Be Your
Own Doula

I wouldn't be a doula today if I didn't see real value in it.  Offering my physical presence, comforting touch, and insight that only comes with experience are all things that cannot be replaced.

That being said, I believe that every woman deserves to feel empowered during her birth experience, and not every woman is able to hire a doula whether due to location, finances, or simply wanting as few people as possible present during the intimate experience of birth of her child.

That is why I have created the "Be Your Own Doula" course. This course is specifically designed to help you and your partner work together to create a supportive environment, and empower you both with the information and skillset to allow you to give birth with confidence. The course is conducted over Zoom so that you can ask questions and have an experience that is tailored to your unique needs. Over the course of 2 meetings of 2 hours each (4 hours total), you will learn the following:

• • How to mitigate some of your concerns surrounding birth​

  • How to prioritize you and your partner's hopes for your birth experience

  • How to create an effective birth plan

  • What to do when contractions start

  • When to go to the hospital (or call your midwife)

  • What to bring with you to the hospital (or have ready at home)

  • How to ask effective questions and advocate for yourself

  • The options you have when it comes to pain management and interventions, and some of their pros and cons

  • Labour Positions (and when/how to use them)

  • Breathing techniques

  • Comfort measures (and how your partner can support you)

  • Basics of Breastfeeding

  • Safe Sleep

I will also email you all the printable materials and "cheat sheets" you need to confidently get through labour!
