The Mission of Birthing Hope Doula Services
Affirming Life and Motherhood Through Supportive Care
When I first shared the name “Birthing Hope” with my husband, he asked me if it meant “giving birth to hope” or if it meant “the hopes you have for your birthing experience.” My answer: both.
Every mother’s number one goal is to give birth to a healthy and happy baby. Your baby is a unique, precious, and intrinsically valuable human being. Simply by the nature of his or her existence, your child brings hope to the world. When you give birth to your child, you are giving birth to hope! But yearning for a safe delivery doesn’t mean that we don’t have other hopes and dreams for our birthing experience. Maybe for you that dream is to get through your birth unmedicated. Or maybe that dream involves an epidural, laughter, playing games with your spouse, and taking naps until the baby arrives. Maybe your dream involves a home birth with family and friends gathered around. Or maybe your dream involves a team of medical personnel at the hospital to care for you and your baby and offer you an added level of security. These are your dreams. Your hopes. And they are uniquely yours. You deserve to have the birth you envision. I want to see those hopes and dreams of yours come to fruition.
My philosophy is that your body has been designed to support and nourish your little one from the moment of conception onward. And your baby, of immeasurable value and worth, is going to be born. That birth plan can look different for different people based on circumstances or birth preferences... But Mama, you CAN do this, because your body was designed with birth in mind. I am here to care for you by offering the physical, emotional, and informational support you need to empower you to advocate for your birthing hopes.
